After the sculpture “A new Chapter” stood in front of the main entrance of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne in June 2021, it was transported by helicopter to its new location at the Vidy skatepark on March 13, 2023.
Skateboarding has been an Olympic sport since 2016, which is why the IOC commissioned this skateable sculpture.
The sculpture “A new Chapter” was designed by the Berlin-based Swiss artist Rylsee, alias Cyril Vouilloz.
Rylsee is a skateboarder himself and gained international recognition for his graffiti and graphics, as well as his avant-garde approach.
Vertical Technik AG built and installed the sculpture in the shape of the capital letter “A” with a wave and a vertical wall.
