A new boulder block for the Basel region – Bettingen!
History:
In January 2024, the municipality of Bettingen contacted us and requested a quote for a street workout facility. After several discussions, the project evolved into a multi-generational park with a playground, barbecue area, seating area, bocce court, cable car, street workout facility, and a boulder block.
In the spring of 2025, the municipality commissioned the boulder block; the street workout facility was postponed due to budget constraints. On Friday, April 25, 2025, the multi-generational park was inaugurated. Joshua Wyss, himself a passionate boulderer, was entrusted with the task of renewing the routes.
The Verein Generationenparcours St. Chrischona is dedicated to encounter, movement, and contemplation and operates the leisure facility on the Chrischona mountain. It is a playground for young and old where one can be inspired by various possibilities on the grounds with a majestic panoramic view. The Chrischona mountain has always been a place where people have pilgrimaged, vacationed, and recovered.
The Verein Generationenparcours promotes a meeting place for all generations by providing a multitude of visitors, guests, and excursionists from Bettingen, Riehen, Basel, and the border triangle with an infrastructure that stimulates body, mind, and soul.
Positive changes can take place here when experiencing valuable time on the multi-generational park.
We are proud to have been able to manufacture and deliver the boulder block for this place of pilgrimage. Thanks to Ueli Rusch, the managing director of Chrischona Berg, and the municipality of Bettingen, represented by councilor Gaby Walker, for the great cooperation and the trust in allowing us to deliver this boulder block.
