Vertical has built a concrete skate park in Mies (canton of Vaud). It extends over approx. 700m2 and consists of a mini ramp and a street area. Vertical developed the design and concept with the architects CCHE from Nyon. The earthworks and rough shaping were previously carried out by the construction company Perrin.
On the platform there is a staircase with handrail and hubba, as well as a manual pad with London Gap. On the other side there is a 6 m wide mini ramp and a bank with wall ride. In between are a pyramid, curbs, a rail and an A-frame with gap. The elements are arranged in such a way that flowing lines are possible and can be used by both experienced riders and beginners.
The geometric aspect of the skate park is accentuated by black-colored concrete in the diagonals. Since the FIBA headquarters are located in Mies, a new “3×3” basketball court was also built next to the skate park. The project also includes a new parking lot, green spaces and a drinking fountain.
