The historically significant city of Avenches in the canton of Fribourg has had a well-preserved amphitheater since Roman times. Since spring 2018, the city has also been the proud owner of a charming concrete skatepark.
The Vertical Technik AG was commissioned by the municipality of Avenches to implement the design, planning and construction as part of a general contractor agreement. The need was evaluated with the local youth by means of a skatepark design workshop as early as 2016. The skatepark is to be understood as a circuit flow park, which offers possibilities for good riders and kids on an area of around 250m2. In addition to a 180° bowl corner with hip and slappy curbs, there is an A-frame hubba with pyramid, a staircase with 2 different handrails and a manual pad with straight rail available. The skatepark is located in the new sports zone next to the train station.
